I bought this bird seed because We had a squirrel problem. Day one I put this in the feeders I could tell the squirrels were angry!! The emptied it out on the ground. The next day the squirrels came to check out the food situation. We have not had squirrels since day 3. All of the birds seem to love the seed!! Will continue to purchase
The squirrels don't like it, but the birds do! Cheapest place to buy it too!
Love watching how much the birds enjoy this birdseed and it's so reasonably priced! Thank you
If you know your prices and bag sizes so you do not pay too much, buying online with Walmart and free delivery available is wonderful. Just have to watch the details so you KNOW size, amount, cost, shipping, pickup only, so you do not have any unexpected surprises. This worked for me with free delivery under a certain order amount. Even the furry critters get a taste sometimes!
The birds love them, but they manage to leave behind some kind of skin from the seed. Not completely mess-free, but a big hit amongst the garden birds found nesting in the backyards of San Diego.
Being able to order this from Walmart saves me having to go to the store, especially with masks coming off :'( Squirrels don't like safflower seed, so I can feed more birds.
I bought this specifically due to reading squirrels don't eat it. While many types of birds love it and flock to our feeders for meals (including a very bossy blue Jay!) I found out why my supply was diminishing at such a fast rate. Chipmunks love it! I sat quietly on my glider and caught one shimmy up the pole to the feeder! I laughed saying it was Theodore but the kids all day it's Simon : - }
Doves, cardinals, Rose finches, sparrows and other small birds love these safflower seeds and starlings dont. I have to fill the bird feeder 2x a week. The only slightly negative is that they are smaller in size than another brand I used to buy, but for the price and that the birds love it, it is my choice.
Seed was fresh but birds do not love it. I tried mixing it in but the birds are very turned off by it. Not a favorite of my feathered friends. Squirrels don't like it but the birds agree.
Was using an expensive Birds Unlimted no mess bird seed for awhile and got tired of the squirrels eating it and the high price. I chose this for keep the squirrels away and it did that but now I probably have a 1/10th of the birds I use to have. Good way to save money I guess because hardly any birds come around now.
